Guerilla Tactician
Someone who stops waiting for a top-down mandate and quietly builds small, unauthorized systems that prove a fix works, then hands the credit to the system instead of themselves.
A Guerilla Tactician is the answer to the Cassandra Dilemma: someone who sees the fix but has no budget or authority to mandate it, so they build it anyway, quietly, at a small enough scale that nobody has to approve it first. The core thesis is that you don’t need authority to build a system. You only need authority to do your own job.
The playbook runs on a few rules: speak the audience’s language instead of your own (sell a Guesser-type boss on “capacity for heroism,” sell a Manager-type boss on “data hygiene”), wait for a real crisis instead of proposing a formal pilot program, and run a Shadow Pilot that proves the fix on a small scale before anyone official has to sign off. When it works, the tactician credits the system, not themselves, which is what turns a personal workaround into something the rest of the org will actually adopt.
